Grants - federal or state funds which are awarded based on financial need of the student. Grants do not have to be paid back.

Loans - borrowed funds that must be repaid. Please go to that web page for more information.

Also, the student must sign a master promissory note (MPN).
Scholarships - funds that do not have to be paid back. The criteria vary. Not all are need- based or academically-based. Please go to the that web page for more information.

Falcon Promise Program- New UTPB program for students from families making $60,000 per year or less; will cover tuition and mandatory fees.
