Why do I need tutoring?

Ask yourself the following questions and see if you could use a tutor:SI Image 4

  • Is my comprehension of certain concepts fuzzy?
  • Am I satisfied with my grade?
  • Do I need help understanding my homework?
  • Do I need practice in organizing information?
  • Do I need encouragement to boost my self-confidence?
  • Do I need help in developing a good problem solving strategy?
  • Do I need another point of view?
  • Do I need help in reviewing for exams?
  • And do I really want to waste my student service fees on a service I don't even use?

Why is tutoring so helpful?

  • The tutor is recommended by the professor and attends classes with you.
  • Tutoring helps students improve their comprehension of coursework material.
  • Tutoring develops productive study skills required for success at the university or college level.
  • This program allows its' tutors to participate on a small group basis and permits individual attention.
  • Supplemental Instruction targets historically difficult courses i.e., Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and History.
  • If you need help in a class for which a tutor has not been assigned, please come by or contact the PASS Office for further assistance.
