Why do I need tutoring?
Ask yourself the following questions and see if you could use a tutor:
- Is my comprehension of certain concepts fuzzy?
- Am I satisfied with my grade?
- Do I need help understanding my homework?
- Do I need practice in organizing information?
- Do I need encouragement to boost my self-confidence?
- Do I need help in developing a good problem solving strategy?
- Do I need another point of view?
- Do I need help in reviewing for exams?
- And do I really want to waste my student service fees on a service I don't even use?
Why is tutoring so helpful?
- The tutor is recommended by the professor and attends classes with you.
- Tutoring helps students improve their comprehension of coursework material.
- Tutoring develops productive study skills required for success at the university or college level.
- This program allows its' tutors to participate on a small group basis and permits individual attention.
- Supplemental Instruction targets historically difficult courses i.e., Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and History.
- If you need help in a class for which a tutor has not been assigned, please come by or contact the PASS Office for further assistance.
