Students With Disabilities

 

UTPB provides access to programs, services and activities to qualified individuals with known disabilities as required by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and of 2009, unless doing so presents an undue hardship or fundamentally alters the nature of any program or activity.

What is a disability?

Disabilities may include hearing, mobility or visual impairments as well as hidden disabilities such as chronic medical conditions, learning, psychiatric or emotional disabilities.

Request for Accommodations

  1. The student must self identify as having a disability
  2. Complete an application for accommodations (PDF)
  3. Provide documentation of the disability by a licensed professional 
  4. Provide a current class schedule
  5. Sign student responsibility form  (PDF)
  6. Take accommodation notification form (s) to instructors
