Student Organizations

Student organizations create opportunities for students to get to know their classmates and faculty outside of the classroom. We currently have  50 active student clubs and a few more that are active some semesters. New student organizations may be established by coming to our office and filling out the necessary forms to be recognized.

All student organizations must register with the Office of Student Activities in order to become officially recognized by The University. We also assist Physical Plant schedule rooms for student organizations and provide advice and information to ensure compliance with University and System regulations (Regents’ Rules). Programming and leadership issues also may be discussed with the Office of Student Life. The Student Organization Guide contains more extensive information regarding procedures.

The Offices of Student Activities and Student Life provide a "Club Leadership Workshop" at the beginning of each regular semester. Many U.T. Permian Basin faculty speak on parliamentary procedures, group dynamics, event planning, traits of good leaders, and other helpful topics for student leaders. A review of the Student Organizations Guide is also provided.

Inquiries about any of the student organizations may be sent to :

Student Organizations

Spring 2012

Please note: Organizations not registered for Spring 2012 either have incomplete paperwork or they were not in attendance of the required meeting. To address this matter, the advisor and president of the organization need to meet with the Director of Student Life as soon as possible. Otherwise, these organizations are not eligible to use university facilities, request funds from Student Senate, participate in the Homecoming Week activities, etc. Please make an appointment by calling 552-2651 or 552-2652.
