Psychological Assessments
Areas of assessment include personality, attention-deficit, aptitude/career or disability. The Counseling Center can provide testing for ADA accommodations, ADHD diagnosis and support, and other learning and study problems.
(Testing may require a fee)
Counseling Services
Individual & Group Counseling
We offer individual and group counseling to UTPB students. Services are usually free to students, but may have a minimal charge for testing or extended family members.
Individual: Discuss self, relationships, feelings or behaviors that may be of concern. Confidential. (Except as required by Texas law)
Group: Students with common concerns may meet with a counselor to discuss such issues as anger management, sexual abuse, parenting adolescents, integrating school and family, depression or eating disorders.
Couples & Family Counseling
Areas include premarital, marital and relationship issues, as well as parenting and communication building.
Educational Programs
Workshops & Speakers
The center has a speaker's bureau and frequently offers student workshops.
Referral Services
The center offers community resources and is a referral source for concerns about someone's behavior and/or emergencies.
